Great displays can be small. Xreal's latest pair of glasses shows what can be done.

The XReal One is a big step up over the XReal Air 2 Pro, and there are some accessories you can snag to enhance the experience. That includes the upcoming XReal Eye ($99) camera, which sits below the bridge of the nose and supports 12-megapixel photos and video recording (1,080p at 60 fps).

Ocutrx said it had anticipated releasing this headset for people with retinal disease in early 2024, but the company is still taking preorders on its website. The device uses augmented reality to overlay high-contrast, pixel-manipulated images onto the user’s remaining viable field of view. It has 2,500 resolution per eye and a field of view 60 x 40 x 72 degrees horizontally, vertically and diagonally. Agricultural supply chains as a whole are also particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change, given that just 15 crops provide 90% of the non-animal-based calories consumed by the world, says Joe Adamski, the senior director for procurement service provider ProcureAbility. That's in addition to the fact that the agricultural industry is responsible for 30% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions, according to researchers from Columbia University. Adamski says all of that creates a "huge risk exposure" for the world's supply of crops, especially with the global population expected to approach 10 billion people by 2050. Making sure we can feed that population "isn't negotiable," he adds, stressing the need to balance increased food production with sustainable farming practices that won't do further harm to the environment.
